“Strong technical training and caring instructors. My daughter's hip hop and technique have both improved a lot.”
Orlando's top technical performance studio
Xplosive Dance Academy on McCoy Road bills itself as "Orlando's top technical performance studio," teaching all genres — hip hop among them — with faculty specialized in each style. The academy serves dancers from ages 3 to 19 and structures learning around a customized "track" for each student, so a young hip hop dancer can build a technical foundation and progress toward performance rather than dropping into unconnected classes.
Its program menu spans an Academy Program for technique, a Company Program for artistic exploration, a Pro-X track, a Ballet Collective, a Day Program and summer offerings, giving hip hop students a clear path if they want to go deeper. The emphasis throughout is on "a professional, artistic, and fun learning environment" led by faculty with both performance and teaching backgrounds. With a 4.5 rating across 35 reviews, Xplosive suits families who want street styles taught inside a disciplined, technique-forward system rather than as casual drop-in fitness.
