“Our daughter has grown so much here — the teachers push the competition dancers and still keep it fun.”
Thirty years of national-title dancers
Turning Pointe has anchored the Longwood dance scene since 1996 and is celebrating its 30th anniversary, a longevity few area studios can match. The studio pairs a broad recreational curriculum — ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, acrobatics and musical theatre — with a dedicated competitive track. Its STARS Competition Team is built for the more serious dancer, and the studio advertises itself as a multi-time national champion, with new families directed to contact the studio for level placement before joining the team.
Students range from age 2 through adults, and the program is structured so recreational dancers and competitors can grow within the same studio family. Turning Pointe also runs mini summer intensives designed to give younger, more serious dancers a more challenging track and to prepare competition dancers for the season ahead. The mix of a long track record, a deep genre list and a clear competitive pathway makes it a natural fit for families weighing a long-term commitment to competitive dance in northern Orlando.
