“Tomas teaches On2 the right way, from the fundamentals up. If you want real salsa technique, this is the place.”
Salsa On2 taught to its roots
Santo Rico Dance Florida is the Orlando outpost of a salsa brand with real lineage: the original Santo Rico was established in New York in 1995, and Florida founder Tomas Guerrero carries that On2 / Mambo methodology into a studio on N. Semoran Boulevard. The core focus is authentic Salsa On2 taught "to its roots and fundamentals," complemented by bachata, and the curriculum runs the full range from absolute beginner to advanced under a "Progress not Perfection" philosophy that keeps the door open to newcomers while satisfying serious On2 practitioners.
The studio surrounds its classes with a full ecosystem: group lessons at every level, private lessons for faster progress, weekly socials, monthly workshops, and performance groups for students who want to compete and perform. It also runs a Kids Summer Program and offers corporate-event choreography, plus an online school for remote practice. For dancers who specifically want the New York On2 timing rather than the more common On1 style, Santo Rico is one of the few Orlando studios built around it — a meaningful distinction for anyone serious about salsa technique.
